Original wallpaper pattern inspired by antique woodblock printed wallpaper, the arts and crafts movement, textiles, aesthetic and orientalist art movements, the work of William Morris, and the work of Walter Crane. Hand drawn illustration was created for the organic line seen in woodblock prints. Vector shapes were used for colors for scaleability, and to have flat regions of limited colors as seen on antique woodblock printed wallpapers. The subject matter of Peonies was inspired by William Morris prints, and the layout was reflected to suggest a brocade. The high contrast color palette diverges from the subtle muted nuance of the arts and crafts movement for a young hip novelty print feel.
